Shadow and Bone (Grisha Verse Book One) by Leigh Bardugo

Wow this book was amazing! I would highly recommend The Hundredth Queen series by Emily R. King to anyone who enjoyed this book. I love the fictional world Leigh  created and the characters were fantastic! I can't wait to dive into the next book!  This book follows Alina, an orphan who grew up in an orphanage provided by a compassionate duke. She spent most of her time with a fellow orphan named Mal. As they grew older Mal joined the Army and Alina understudied as a cartographer.  Life seemed normal for Alina until they had to cross the Unsea. A dark expanse full of monsters know to snatch and devour anyone from the barges that crossed. On their crossing something happens to Alina that will change her life forever. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

I loved this book! This is definitely a YA HEA rom-com & if you don't like those this book isn't for you. I absolutely love Bollywood movies and that is how this book read to me. At first I was annoyed with Dimple's immaturity but that went away quickly as Dimple really emerged as a vibrant independent young woman who is so passionate about her work and life. Rishi is very traditional, richly invested in Indian culture, and such a gentleman! He was actually my favorite character and seeing how he brought the best out in people it was hard for him not to be my fav.  Dimple is an awkward nerdy coder who loves to read and a total introvert. She thinks she is smart when she convinces her parents to let her go to a tech summer program but they know something she doesn't. They have arranged a match for her and his family has sent him to the same tech convention with hopes of them meeting and getting to know each other. Rishi thinks Dimple knows all about the arrange

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

This is the penultimate book about friendship. It encompasses the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. It covers so much ground and the relationships are very well thought out and written. I didn't mean to but I flew through this book loving every minute of it. I adored every character in this book and loved the way Emily's story unfolds. Most of us have experienced all these friendships and learned from them. They shape who you are in good and bad ways. Remember people telling you guilt by association? It can be honor by association too. Emily lives in Connecticut and has just lost her best friend Sloane, and by lost I mean she has up and gone missing without telling Emily anything. This is the girl she has spent all her days with for the past two years. The girl she tells everything to and the girl who became a part of who she is. Emily is in a panic until she finds the envelope Sloane left for her. It's a list of things to do that Emily has never done or nev

Untraceable by S.R. Johannes

This is an YA thriller that takes place in the Smokey Mountains.  I love the Smokies. I spent every summer there growing up. It has a special place in my heart.  Grace is a 16 year old who gets stuck in a love triangle, conspiracies and has to deal with a murder. It's an exciting premise but I wish it was more in depth. I found myself speed reading to finish it. This book was given by NetGalley and the publisher for a fair & honest review. 3 1/2 ⭐️ My GoodReads Review
