Review: Alex, Approximately

Alex, Approximately Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved everything about this book! Yes there are tropes but it is a YA Contemporary Romance. I can see why it is compared to "You've Got Mail" but I wish we had seen a lot more interaction between Alex & Mink. The story is funny and frustrating and adorable.

Bailey meets this guy "Alex" in a film appreciation group and they start private chatting. She uses the screen name "Mink" which is a nickname only her father uses for her. She quickly develops a crush on Alex and he asks her to come to a film festival in Cali. It just happens to be the same town her dad moved to after her parents divorced. Bailey's mom & stepdad start fighting pretty regularly and she decides to go move and live with her dad but she doesn't tell Alex.

She decides to find him and scope him out first to make sure he's not a creeper. In the process she gets a job and can't stand her new co-worker Porter. He drives her nuts and he seems to find that hilarious. Her new job is tough but she is determined to make it last. She works in a ticket booth for a museum that's been dubbed "the hotbox" for its lack of ventilation and glass windows that are directly in the sun. How will she make it through the summer & find Alex at the same time?

Update 2/28/18-
I need vanilla moon muffins! I can't stop thinking about them since I read this book! 😩
