Review: The Demon in the Wood

The Demon in the Wood The Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great little story from before the Grisha trilogy that gives insight into the Darkling's childhood and a better look at the woman who raised him. I really enjoyed this story and wish it was the beginning of another trilogy. The world Bardugo has created is hard to leave!

Eryk and his mother have a rough life. They are constantly on the move and changing their names. Grisha are hunted and killed as witches and they are constantly having to stay hidden. Eryk thinks things are looking up when they stop at a village but things aren't always what they seem.
