Review: A Halloween's Curse

A Halloween's Curse A Halloween's Curse by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book two of the Portal Prophecies series picks up right where the first left off. Willow and her group are still trying to understand and strengthen their powers in this much larger world that is foreign to them. They have made new allies and their group grows as they discover there is much magic on this world surrounded by people unaware of anything magic at all. William inadvertently becomes the new leader of the group by taking on so many responsibilities and keeping everyone focused. Willow matures more into her powers and many other ways.

Another prophecy from the book begins to stand out to them after Willow and Mike are approached by a mysterious gypsy woman with a cryptic warning of her own. Since it involves a holiday called Halloween that isn't far away they begin to tirelessly try to decode what it means. Two teams decide to explore places with magic histories to learn more about the world and how it could connect to the prophecy when Willow's team gets tricked into a place that isn't quite what it seems. This experience adds more questions than it answers and it seems King Cornelius or his children may be involved. The closer they get to solving the mystery of the prophecy, the more danger they encounter.

This book definitely does not disappoint with more character development, lore and beautiful places. This was a great continuation of the series and fun to read right before Halloween. I will definitely be continuing this series!
