Review: Torch

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This third installment of the Lantern series was just as magical as the first two but with a twist. I loved that Chess took a minor character from the second story to make the main character in this one. The story kept me reading non-stop til I was finished. These stories are suited for middle grade but anyone can enjoy them.
Evelyn and her sister are going out for their first Halloween since they lost their parents and were separated from their brothers. Her cousin Carla couldn't take them all into her home in Erie. In Havenbrim, Master Machin has taken a new apprentice. It's the boy he gave the torch, Graham. Now Graham no longer had to live in the woods as Machin puts him to work. Somehow Evelyn gets trapped in a lantern by the lake and gets transported to another land. How will she get home and does she want to go back?
