Review: Batman: Nightwalker
Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a good discovery book about Bruce Wayne. He isn't Batman yet, he just turned eighteen and got access to his trust fund and the company. Some favorite characters make appearances, like Alfred is Bruce's caregiver and butler. Then Bruce goes for a drive to get away from the craziness of fake people and paparazzi but he runs up on a police chase. He decides he can catch this guy bc his car is faster and starts chasing him. (Dumb move? Maybe not?)
He catches the criminal who is part of a gang called Nightwalker but the police arrest Bruce for interfering and now he has community service... not at a normal place you would expect but at Arkham Asylum. This part does not make sense to me bc it doesn't seem realistic. There he befriends an inmate who gives him info on Nightwalkers while he mops the dirty floor.
An interesting formative story for the days before Batman but only 3.5 stars for me.
